Bredonborough Rising from an auction

08.56

Bredonborough.

Rising from an auction sale of fine items in my Father’s auction rooms at the back of Welch & Lock, Leigh Road. In actuality, the Auction Rooms were a former Spiritualist Temple, now demolished for a small by-pass around Poole Corner. Mother Edie never tired of telling her children the tale that the Spiritualists, who disapproved of their Temple becoming a market-place, were informed by their spirit-guides in 1939 that the war would soon be over.

While moving into the room, the first text message on my new i-Phone appeared at 12.02, from Steven.

To Wilson World HQ. Today’s work: listening to Steven’s stereo mixes of Three Of A Perfect Pair I…

Overall, perhaps I added 1% to Steven’s mixes. A cake break. A business call from the Minx, her business transitionings continuing. Returning to a through-listen and two added-tracks.

Steven is the Numero Uno in-demand go-to Sonic Re-Vibrator of albums from the so-called Progressive Period. One of Steven’s recent jobs has been remixing the first two ELP albums. After several visits that fell through, Greg arrived to check-out the re-mixes. Steven was surprised to learn how much of my guitar playing I had learnt from Greg himself.

Leaving c. 16.00 for Berkhamsted, coffee and book-browsing at Waterstone’s. Over to the renovated Kings Arms for 18.00 supper with Jakko. Catching-up on wide-ranging news, including the return of Family Jakko, to their reconstructed home, last week.

While we were conversing, two young children were shouting, howling, and one running around the restaurant in triple-forte mode. In the adult area of a gastro pub, this is a you-do-not. Perhaps Diary-visiting parent-persons will take offence at That Awful Man, an old codger and a goat to boot, daring to suggest it better for children in public spaces to act as if they were in public spaces, rather than at home in their recreation area.

Back to Modesto for data organizing.
